Foreign Terms and Lingo

Everyday is a learning experience. Especially when you're dealing with foreigners who come from all over the world and although they speak English, sometimes its in a certain slang or lingo that may be hard to understand.

The following are some terms I picked up from the many conversations I had with guests (thanks to constant television exposure and a lot of reading, I understood most of it!)The rest, I learnt along the way...

Brolly/Brollies - Umbrella
W.C/Comfort Room/John - Toilet
Hole in the wall - ATM Machine
Tele-freek (arabic) - cable car
Sha-la-lat (arabic) - waterfall
titip (indonesian) - to keep/store temporarily
